HOPAC, founded in 1994, is an international Christian K-12 school with over 300 students from 33 different countries and a variety of religious backgrounds including Christian, Muslim and Hindu. While the majority of students come from families of missionaries and the non-profit and international business community, one third are Tanzanian.

Org. Setting and Reporting
The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA)/ Capacity Development Office (CDO)/ Human Resources Management/ Associate Experts (JPO) Programme internship is for two months with an opportunity for extension, pending on the needs of the department.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.
Education
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations New York Headquarters Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
1. Applicants must:
(a) be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
(b) be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent); or
(c) have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) or (b) above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation.
2. Be computer literate in standard software applications.
Work Experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the UN internship programme.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.

HR Projects Adviser, Pay and Benefits

We are currently recruiting a HR Projects Adviser, Pay and Benefits for the Organisational Development and Systems (ODS) Section of our Human Resources Division. The ODS Section leads on providing an effective people management framework and systems to underpin the Division’s operations and effectiveness and to provide a working environment that engages our staff and maximises on their potential.
This is a 3-year fixed-term role to provide a sound basis for our pay and benefits framework and its implementation.
The post-holder is responsible for reviewing, revising and developing the organisation’s pay and benefits framework in line with our People Strategy, for providing expert advice on pay and benefit matters in the international context and to support effective pay and benefits administration.
The ideal candidate will have:
A first degree in any subject from nationally recognised institutions.
A post graduate qualification in human resources management, reward management or other disciplines relevant to the post (desirable).
At least ten years’ or more experience in compensation and benefits including a minimum of 3 years at reward manager level.
Experience of leading the review and design of pay and benefit framework and schemes for international organisations.
Awareness of the latest trends in pay, benefits and recognition programmes in international organisations.
Experience of working with global salary benchmarking providers and pay data tools for salary surveys, salary reviews and management of benefits.
Experience of managing budgets and of managing suppliers.
Experience of using HR systems, knowledge of compensation & benefits reporting tools and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
In addition, experience of designing compensation packages for long term consultants and having worked for inter-governmental organisations in the past will be looked upon favourably.

The Role

The Manager/Human Resources Recruitment and Development will be reporting to the Chief
Manager/Human Resources and will be responsible for overall coordination of the human resources
planning, recruitment and development; and accountable for the development of appropriate sound
policies, processes and procedures in the areas of jurisdiction that will support the acquisition, talent
development and retention of competent staff for delivery of the bank business.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assists in the development of human resources policies, regulations and procedures relating to human resources planning, recruitment and development
Assists to coordinate the preparation of short and long corporate human Resources staff acquisition, career development, training plans and budgets. .
Assists in development of the bank's performance management systems and a performance oriented
company culture that emphasizes quality of service, continuous improvement and high performance in delivery of bank's business ..
Provides leadership in the execution of approved human resource recruitment, development and training plans in consultation with relevant departments
Conducts training needs analysis in conjunction with line managers.
Develops HR training and development strategies with line managers based on the training needs analysis and taking into consideration short and long-term staff requirements.
Plans and directs the delivery of approved training and development programmes including staff inductions, to accomplish the organisation's goals.
Develops individual training programmes that meet the skills gap identified through training needs analysis.
Provides leadership in implementing the recruitment and staff progression in accordance to approved policies and procedures. •

Recommends periodic staff performance review schedules and ensure adherence to the approved performance management systems by all supervising officers. .
Ensures staff are provided feedback on their performance reviews based on mutually agreed performance indicators and targets.
Prepares periodic and annual human resources recruitment, development and performance implementation reports for management information and decision.
Arranges for direct report staff development and training for improved performance of the bank
Conducts periodic performance appraisal of all direct reports
Performs other duties related to the above as may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time

Must have postgraduate degree qualification in Business Administration (majoring in Human
Resources),Human Resources, Public Administration, General Management or equivalent
