Background
SNV, Netherlands Development Organization is a not-for-profit international development organization working in Tanzania with local partners to equip communities, businesses and organizations with the tools, knowledge and connections they need to increase their incomes and gain access to basic services. SNV has been working in Tanzania since the 1971 and currently has offices in Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, Arusha and satellite offices in Morogoro and Iringa. SNV Tanzania is currently implementing a 4 years project on Sustainable Sanitation and Hygiene for All (SSH4A) in rural areas of Karatu, Babati, Kwimba, Geita and Chato districts.

The Call for Expression of Interest
SNV Tanzania is inviting registered Tanzanian organisations based/or who have offices in Karatu, Babati, Kwimba, Geita and Chato districts to provide capacity development services on Sanitation and Hygiene in the rural areas of Karatu, Babati, Kwimba, Geita and Chato districts.

Consultancy opportunity: Girls in Control documentary video production



Terms of Reference
Girls in Control documentary video production
SNV is seeking a professional consultant to produce a number of short documentary videos on its Girls in Control (GiC) programme.
Videos are intended to illustrate the issues surrounding menstrual hygiene management (MHM), promote the GiC approach and advocate for necessary support both within GiC programme countries and internationally.
The successful consultant will be expected to produce and deliver a total of 12 short videos shot on location in the five GiC programme countries (Ethiopia, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe).
The selected consultant should have a good understanding of development work and proven experience in documenting development activities in diverse cultural contexts. Experience in east and southern Africa is preferred.

Restless Development Tanzania is recruiting a consultant to develop a youth-friendly civic engagement guide, which will include engaging cartoon content, a comprehensive facilitator’s guide and interactive materials for participants in electoral processes. The guide and materials will focus on participation and engagement of youth, local government officials and communities in decision-making processes, and will specifically endeavor to empower youth with civic engagement skills and enable them to actively engage in the election process.

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT CONSULTANT - DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA
Overview:
Project HOPE is refining our Africa Regional Strategic Plan for Tanzania. In line with our global strategy, we are conducting a donor as well as partner mapping exercise to identify opportunities in line with our strategy. We will use this mapping to prioritize steps for the next 90 days, 180 days and three years.
**
Activities**
Obtain thorough briefing on HOPE’s regional strategy as well as program activities in the region;
Establish regular communication with HOPE leadership team including Country Leadership as well as Regional Director;
Gather information on donor funding interests that will inform the resource mobilization strategy through interviews and desk review;
Meet with potential partners for Project HOPE, assess potential for partnerships on upcoming opportunities;
Gather donor as well as host country Government priorities, strategies, geographic focusResearch upcoming funding opportunities;
Identify possible new funding opportunities including private and public sector;
Identify and communicate information broadly to support the success of our program development in the coming 36 months.
Deliverables:
Document the outcomes of the mapping exercise in a complete and comprehensive report.
Develop a table for donors and potential partners which consolidates information including name, contact, address, areas of operation, partners, areas funded, budget;
Given HOPE’s interests and relative strengths prepare recommendations for potential partnerships.
Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor´s degree in public health or similar field; MPH preferred.
Excellent verbal communication skills;
Demonstrated ability to gather data and conduct research to obtain market intelligence;
Excellent time management, written/technical writing and presentation skills;
Highly collaborative and extensive experience in collaboration tools and processes;
Results-oriented, disciplined and strong initiative;
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint;Strong written and verbal mastery of English.

Summary
Sokoine University Graduate Entrepreneurs Cooperative (SUGECO) is an organization that guides graduates from institutions of higher learning towards self-employment, agribusiness development and job creation. It was started in July of 2011 with 40 founding members, primarily undergraduate finalists, post-graduate students, and academic members from Sokoine University of Agriculture's (SUA)
Department: of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness (DAEA).
SUGECO's mission is to prepare, enable, and support knowledge-intensive, innovative entrepreneurs as they build successful businesses along agricultural and agribusiness value chains throughout Tanzania. Job Purpose

Reporting to Executive Director Project Development and Consulting Unit Coordinator shall provide administrative and basic analytical support on SUGECO projects and consulting programmes. He/she will coordinate information flow and reporting; create and maintain documentation; maintain and update databases; produce marketing materials; track project calls for bidding; monitor project activities and ensure on time submission; and liaise with project staff and internal/external contacts.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Develop a strategic program to brand SUGECO consulting unit
Coordinate the planning, bidding, implementation and review of SUGECO projects in accordance with
planned outcomes
Work closely with the SUGECO technical committees to ensure that the project responds effectively to emerging needs and implements programmatic activities, such as business incubation, to ensure maximum impact
Prepare project proposals and develop project plans, including schedules and budgets
Ensure the timely compilation of project reporting, including submission of the monthly reports to the
Executive Director
Prioritize, plan and coordinate project development activities according to customer and organization requirements
Work closely with Executive Director to negotiate contractual terms and agreements with donors and clients
Identify and respond to calls for proposal/expressions of interest to execute projects
Develop presentations as needed for current and potential clients and donors
Interact with customers and donor organizations to build positive working relationships and clearly understand their needs and expectations

Qualifications and Background

Master or Bachelor degree in project management, marketing, ,economics, agribusiness, entrepreneurship, business administration, or development studies.
In-depth knowledge of the Tanzanian economy and business environment in the sectors targeted by
SUGECO
At least 2 years of experience in managing/developing organizational projects
At least 2 years of experience developing and writing project proposals, including bidding for consultancies
Entrepreneurial spirit and sensitivity to organization needs.
Fluent English with excellent writing and verbal communication skills
Excellent computer skills
Good organizational and marketing skills
At ease in working in a small structure, start-up-type, where tasks and responsibilities are in constant movement
Able to operate in a multicultural environment
High level of autonomy at work, yet with profound team-spirit
Pro-active and solutions oriented
Ability to work under time pressure
