Marketing Director
Tumaini University Makumira has received a grant from the European Union for the project “Traditional Music and Dance Preservation and Promotion in Northern Tanzania” and now invites applications for the following position:
Marketing Director (15 hrs/week) for the new Cultural Arts Centre (CAC).
Marketing Director Requirements:
1) Tanzanian preferred. Excellent knowledge of English and Kiswahili with strong oral and written communication skills.
2) Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, marketing, public relations preferred.
3) At least 3 years work experience in marketing, promotion, or tourism related field. Work experience in the Arusha area preferred.
4) Computer literacy in word processing, database management, page layout, and social media. Also, graphic design and basic photo editing skills preferred.
5) Good organisational and time management skills
6) Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural work environment
7) A Driving License (B, D) and clean driving record is an advantage
Primary job responsibilities:
To coordinate the communication and public relations needs for the Cultural Arts Centre at Makumira, including:
1) Develop a marketing and visibility plan to promote and enhance the Centre and its activities
2) Create monthly newsletters and publications, create and distribute promotional materials
3) Create and place press releases, media relations, and Centre web-site updates
4) Assist with constituent relations and contact development
