Mwananchi Communications Limited, publishers of the leading Tanzania newspapers, Mwananchi, The Citizen and Mwanaspoti is looking for motivated and highly experienced individuals to fill the positions of:

POSITION: INVESTIGATIVE EDITOR (1 post)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key result areas:
 Maintains a docket of stories being worked on
 Assesses the political, social - economic mood to determine issue for investigation.
 Briefs journalists on topics/issues and angles for carrying investigations
 Ensures deadlines/targets are met
 Reviews written stories to ensure compliance with editorial policy objectives, libel, house style and ethics
 Recommends stories for publication on daily/weekly basis as need arises

Qualification and experience:
ACADEMIC: Basic University Degree in Journalism
PROFESSIONAL: Post-graduate Diploma, or Diploma in Journalism
EXPERIENCE :5-7 years journalistic working experience
